ZSI hires expert for research and innovation policy

We want to strengthen our profile in the field of "Research and Innovation Policy" with an expert who has very good knowledge of Austrian and European R&I policy.

Further knowledge and interest in e.g. higher education policy, societal and socio-ecological transformation, evaluation, science diplomacy as well as European policies and programmes in these fields are an advantage. Furthermore, the applicant has already gained first relevant experience in applied research and has very good scientific methodological skills which he/she can apply to research and evaluation projects.

Work area

  • Collaboration in national and international research and innovation projects in the field of R&I policy (including evaluation)
  • Conducting qualitative and quantitative research on national and international issues related to the design, implementation and evaluation of research policy, innovation, science diplomacy and societal transformation in the context of the European Green Deal
  • Independent writing of project reports and scientific contributions
  • Cooperation and communication with national and international project partners and clients in an interdisciplinary environment
  • Development of project proposals and engagement in project acquisition

Are you self-organised, a team player, committed, accurate and reliable? Are you highly interested in our fields of expertise and do you have the following skills and qualifications?

  • At least a Master's degree in social, political or economic sciences, or social ecology, environmental economics, environmental sociology or similar
  • At least 3 years of experience in research
  • Excellent command of German and English, ability to write project reports and scientific papers independently
  • Robust application of empirical social science methods
  • Ability to work independently and accurately

Employer and place of work: Zentrum für Soziale Innovation GmbH, 1150 Vienna, Linke Wienzeile 246

Start date: preferably March 2022, initially limited to 1 year; thereafter an unlimited extension is possible (can be negotiated)

Working hours: full-time or part-time (at least 20 hours per week)

Minimum gross salary: 3,231.35 gross at 40h/week with at least three creditable years of professional experience; additional payment possible based on actual classification according to creditable previous years of service and assignment group according to the ZSI salary scheme.
